Bio - Dee Williams

Born in Germany to a career Air Force family, I spent my formative years in Belgium before completing high school in Nashville, Tennessee. I am married to a Sociology Professor, and together we navigate life in Murfreesboro, TN, while managing a blended family of four boys and one girl. My son by birth, Christopher, is a talented musician, and I am blessed to be the grandmother of two beautiful girls.

Right after high school, I began my journey as a professional singer and dancer at Opryland Music Park. This experience led to singing and touring in the 80s with a popular country music group. My life has been a rich tapestry of raising children, exploring the world, and caring for ill parents, all while going through two marriages.

As I grow older, I’ve discovered that my deepest passion is helping others and being the hands and feet of Jesus. I do this with no hidden motives- especially not to earn my way into heaven. There is no place for self-righteousness in my life. Honestly, I’m often baffled by the issues some Christians choose to make such a big deal about. To me, it’s simple: Jesus left us with two commandments that sum up everything:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.” If you question who your brother is, read 1 John4:7-12.

I have a deep passion for supporting the homeless, immigrants, and marginalized communities. My faith in Jesus Christ serves as the cornerstone of my values and ideologies, which resonate with those of the Democratic Party. I aim to share my unique perspectives through my writings, discussing everything from personal experiences to broader hopes and dreams, and offering opinions that may surprise you.
